Challenge

I created the design for Sezzle’s 2024 Black Friday & Cyber Monday campaign, one of the most important sales moments for Sezzle. I had to create a unified, engaging campaign that spanned across various communication channels: email, in-app, and social media. I developed a visual system and messaging framework that could scale across platforms. We highlighted key partner brands like Uber, DoorDash, and Nike, high performers that I made sure to feature prominently throughout the campaign.

Results

This turned out to be one of Sezzle’s top-performing campaigns of 2024. It drove a major increase in sales and user engagement across all channels. The campaign converted extremely well, helped boost visibility for partner brands and delivered a strong performance.

Email Communication

I designed the email system for the campaign, which was sent to a wide range of cohorts, including Sezzle’s entire active user base at the time (approximately 2.6 million users as of November 2024). The goal was to drive users into the app, and the system was prolific in delivering high-impact, targeted communications.

As Sezzle’s app is the primary point for all user transactions, in-app visuals played a critical role in the Black Friday campaign. I designed promotional assets that highlighted the best deals and created a sense of urgency. The Black Friday campaign saw up to 5x higher click-through rates than average, and my in-app placements followed that trend, driving engagement from both returning users and those who hadn’t initially planned to shop.
